Unstoppable and Unreasonable

First of all, I would like to emphasize that this blog post has nothing to do with the active online members of our beloved website. But if you know someone that you think needs to hear this discussion, then please advise them. Or if you think this is for you, then better deal with it. =)

Last night, I had this opportunity to assist the people in charge of our event in Ortigas. And what I saw, really moved me. I saw two exciting people, riding their wheelchairs and wearing that great smile. I shook their hands and gave them my greetings. One of them took module 1 and the other one module 2.

We gave them their copies and Ms. Cecil Mojica (the main person in charge) introduced them to their conveners. I went back to our station and I just can't get it off my mind, the fact that these people with wheelchairs was there attending our event. After their sessions ended, I had the chance to talk to one of them and I learned that the main reason why they were there was because they wanted to learn and they wanted to support the mission of the community which is to spread financial education throughout the nation. And I thanked them for sharing their time with us and supporting the event. In my mind, I was telling myself - "I will not be surprised if 1-3 years from now I'll be seeing a multi-millionaire with wheelchair."

Here are the top 2 things that I wanted to share with you:

1) Because they are disabled, they could simply use it as a valid reason for them not to attend. But they are UNREASONABLE and they didn't accept that as a valid excuse.

2) Because they are in a wheelchair, they could simply say, "nakakahiya, baka pagtinginan lang ako ng mga tao dun." But they are UNSTOPPABLE and they don't care what other people might say. What they care is for them to learn and help fulfill the mission of the community.

I have always agreed to what T Harv Eker said, "A person who can be stopped, can always be stopped. If distance can stop you, then anything can stop you."

Let us learn from these people and start taking action today. If you haven't joined in any of our events, then I say that this is the perfect time. If you haven't finished the three modules yet because of some reason or excuse then It's time to rub it off and take action.

Freedom Month!

February has been a special month for everyone because of the Valentine's Day, where most of us will spend some quality time with our
special someone. It's the time of year where you see lots of men
carrying flowers while walking in the streets. It's the time where most men give their best gifts to their beloved. Very special isn't it. But you know what? February is very special for me not only because its the month of love, but more importantly, Its my FREEDOM MONTH!!!

Why do I consider it my freedom month? Well, I have two very important reasons that supports the belief that it is:

1. February 2, 2009 - It was the day where I went to my boss' office for the last time. It was the last day of my labor to make other people's dream. it was my DISEMPLOYMENT DAY!!! Why did I call it disemployment? Let me give you its meaning, it's the act of going out of employment and never going back to it. Actually, I celebrated my 1st year anniversary a few weeks ago with some selected friends.

2. February 18, 2008 - Create Abundance 2020 Business Community was born. Happy 2nd Year Anniversary!!!

If it was not because of this community, I would still be one of the modern day slaves of this generation. I might actually be working abroad believing that there's a greener pasture out there. Fortunately, CA came to my rescue. It transformed me from a caterpillar to a butterfly, from an EMPLOYEE to a FULL-BLOODED ENTREPRENEUR. It became a clearing to me that I was able to see things in a new perspective. As Marcel Proust said, "the real voyage of discovery consists not seeking new lands, but in seeing with new eyes". It showed me the way how to live a life of abundance and showed me how to end scarcity in my life. I was provided with the best people that are fully committed and dedicated for my success. And because of this, I'll be forever grateful. Words are not enough to express my gratitude so I decided to pay forward the blessings that I've received and keep on receiving since becoming one of the core team members. I'm so glad I was able to share it to my family that my mom and sister joined me here as well.

The Four Types of Person

There are Four Types of Person regarding Time and Money Freedom:

1) People with no time and money. They have no time because they must devote themselves to work. And they have no money because they have to pay their bills and expenses everytime they receive their salary, leaving them broke every end of the month. The funny thing about this is that I belong to this group before. I used to be an employee and as a youngster in the corporate world you know the money I earn is not enough so I have to overwork just for my ends meet. Since I'm also assisting my mom's medical expenses.

2) People with time but no money. Because they don't have work, they have lots of free time. And because they don't have work, they don't have money. There's no better example here than the people better known as "tambay". Well, this is very easy to find here in the Philippines. Because you can find them anywhere.

3) People with no time but with money. These people are strict savers, they don't have time like the # 1 person because of work. But they have money because they save too much or because of high compensation. These are people who are at the top of the corporate ladder. They have high income but at the same time, the demands are high too. Since they are being paid higher, so the company requires them to go early and stay later at work. These people are CEOs, Presidents, VPs, Managers, etc..

4) People with time and money. They are called, the wealthy. They have time for their loved ones, and they can do whatever they wish. Because they have passive income, they don't need to work. And its the same reason why they have money, because what they have is multiple streams of passive income.. These people are passive business owners and investors, they belong to the right side of the quadrant.

You can be one of these persons. But you have a choice to change if you don't like your standing. In fact, a lot of people think they are destined to be where they are now. And they never realize that they had choosen to be what they are.

For me, I had choosen to be a number 4 person. And I know I can do it, most especially because of the community's strategy to create TEAM-MADE MULTIMILLIONAIRES. See Dr. Mahdi's blog about this

FULL MOON!

Today, I went home by a cab. As I went out and walk towards the house, I looked above and saw the moon directly on top of me. It looked like a full moon because it was round in appearance, so as I entered the house, I immediately turned on the computer to search for the schedule of full moon. My research shows that it was actually a full moon.

Now let me just be clear that this blog has nothing to do about the twilight saga "new moon". Hahaha!

Instead, it reminded me of what our mentor has been teaching and telling me over and over again.

"Shoot for the moon and you might hit one of the stars. Most of us aim for the ceiling and wonder why we could not get pass our roofs."

Guess what? I decided to do something I've never done before... I compared what's the feeling of inside the house and looking up straight in the ceiling versus looking in the moon outside.

What do you think could be my realizations?

>Looking up in the ceiling was boring, I felt like there was no where else to go.

>Watching the moon was more exciting. When I stared to it, I felt freedom. And it was really beautiful.

>We create our limitations. The ceiling represents the things or reasons that hinders us to have freedom. And that's exactly what most people do.

>Most people settle for less, and these people usually live a boring life.

>The people who enjoy life the most are those who aim big. Most of the time, these people do what other people thought could not be done.

>Life is about creating your limits or breaking them.

Since joining the core team, I realized that I have broken the limits that I created before. I used to live my life based on those limitations. Now, I'm living a life with a great purpose. To live a life for others, to live a life doing God's work.

Human Drama

Recently, I watched a movie that really struck me. It's a special documentation that tackles the science of quantum physics. While watching it, I felt like I was in the movie. It's like I was watching myself. One of the things that I would never forget is about how most men are easily attracted to seductive women. Well, especially those ladies who exposes more skin. =) If you're a member of the masculine homo sapiens family, then I think you're guilty on this.

Have you heard of the term...

Hypothalamus?

To give you a simple definition, the hypothalamus is a portion of the brain that contains a number of small nuclei with a variety of functions. One of the most important functions of the hypothalamus is to link the nervous system to the endocrine system via the pituitary gland (hypophysis). Hey, I'm no human anatomist and I have no plans of discussing the technicalities of these terms. But the message was clear to me. This hypothalamus is the one thing that influence human feelings and emotions. It could be influenced by what we see, hear, touch and smell. Human senses in short. And then the brain gathers information from the past and sends it to mighty hypothalamus which in turn will create our feelings and expressions.

So what I'm trying to say here.. As I end that movie, I realized that I was being controlled by this hypothalamus that I have in my head. I came to understand why I had this sensual feeling everytime I see a sexy lady passing by. Of course it doesn't apply only to that category. I mean we all had our feelings of lust, sadness, hapiness, nervousness, etc.. These feelings are merely based on everyting we've seen, heard and experienced in the past. Thus creating the title of this post - Human Drama

The point is clear to me. If you don't take control of your mind, it will take control of you. And unless you learn how to take control of it, you'll never have freedom...

This bothered my thoughts after reading the front page of PDI in a restaurant in GreenBelt 2. 800,000 is the number of employees that will lose their jobs in the Philippines within the year 2009.

Right now, you might be asking already, “Will I be part of this 800,000?” If you are employed, chances are you COULD be one of the 800,000. This is truly an era which only shows that job security is no longer in effect. In fact, unemployment increases every month, its not just happening in our country but also all over the world. Everyday we will hear from the news either companies downsizing or closing down here in Manila or in the province. Recently, our Social Security System already announced that it would no longer grant loans to those who lost their jobs.

Most of us would bet our fortune on finding a job abroad. We are willing to leave our family and loved ones. However, due to the global economic depression, jobs available abroad have become limited for the MILLIONS of Filipinos looking for jobs outside the country. To make things even worse, the only region right now that can accommodate...

Great morning everyone!

What I'm gonna share to you today is something I believe each one of us has done it at least one time in our lives. Have you ever asked yourself,"what if today is the last day of my life?", well that's exactly the deed that I'm talking about.

So, can you recall when was the first time you asked yourself this question? Because I know you could. =)

Let me share my own experience about this. I was a kid back then and all I know was play, eat and sleep. And then, one night during my sleep, I had this profound dream. In that dream, I was in an empty white room. Well, all I can do is just look around and see nothing more than an empty white room. And then suddenly, I heard a voice. I heard someone asking the question, "what if this is your last day of your life?" In a split second, I found myself awake and a little bit terrified. Breathing heavily and sweat all over my body, I tried to calm myself....

Fear of Failure? Or fear of Success?

It's a Saturday morning, and everyone is keeping an eye for typhoon "Pepeng". Neither the body nor the tail has reached Metro Manila but the rain has never stopped since 5pm this afternoon. Well anyway, this blog is not for "Pepeng", but it's about something that popped out of my mind after attending our leadership dojo @ 6pm last night. I've been hearing a lot about fear of failure but not about fear of success. Fear of success, is it really possible to have this kind of fear?

5 Reasons Why a 10%-20% Increase of our Salary is not really an Increase

We rejoice every time our company declares an increase in our salary. What difference does it make in our lives when:

1. The rate of inflation is more consistent than the rate of our salary increase
2. We buy additional liabilities – liabilities are things that take away money from our pocket (e.g. new cell phones, laptop, expensive clothes, new car, new house, etc..)
3. We apply for additional loans
4. We upgrade our lifestyle more than what our salary can pay for
5. We celebrate and go gimmick more often

Salary increase never really makes a huge difference because if it does, we will never do the following:

>>Put our money into cooperatives hoping for an extra income. But end up tightening up our budget because of the obligation to contribute to the cooperative. Then earn how much? 6%? 10%?
>>Invest into stocks and mutual funds hoping that the stock market will go up. But end up hoping because we don’t have control.
>>Cost-cutting, which most of us really don’t like.

What we thought could give us the solution was actually giving us more money and headaches. So how do we solve this reoccurring problem? Since we know that our salary increase is in direct proportion to the increase of prices/expenses. It’s never TRULY an increase.

Our best bet is financial education. Because if we’re financially educated, we know that we can’t rely on our salary increase to have extra. But instead, we will look on other options that are practical and efficient to give us our desired additional income. And the best way to increase our Financial IQ is by having a team or community. If we do, we could eliminate the worries of lack of knowledge about businesses and investments.

We can no longer control what is happening around us, we can only control what we have right now and that is ourselves. As Gandhi said, “be the change you want to see in the world”, then it’s just about time that we start to open our eyes with other possibilities. Its just about time that we start allowing ourselves to start learning something new and not continue to hold on to something that is no longer working for us. We must give up our “should” and “should not’s” and accept that life happens the way it DOES. The key now is, what can be done despite of the global “chaos” that’s happening? When we ponder on this, it is best that we go back to what we value most in our life and based from that FOCUS on what could benefit us for the long-term and would allow us to achieve our fullest potential.

Right now, while a lot of us are still on a job, we must take this opportunity to start educating ourselves on what options to take. We must start preparing ourselves for the best and the worst that could happen. The best action we could do is first, start educating ourselves FINANCIALLY. We must accept the fact that our school missed the part of teaching us how to make our money grow and make it last for the long-term. It has missed the part of teaching us to continually look for options despite having a specialization. However, it has taught us one valuable thing and that is DISCIPLINE. Let us use the discipline we have embodied from our schools and start educating ourselves financially. We don’t want to be caught unprepared for the worst that could happen in our jobs. As Oprah Winfrey said, “luck happens to those who are prepared”.

The Most Valuable Reason Why You Should Quit Your Job

Time Freedom.

As the saying goes, “Time is Gold”. T. Harv Eker, a self-made millionaire said, Time Freedom is the ability to do anything you want, anywhere you want and anytime you want without having to work.

Can we do anything we want, anywhere we want and anytime we want if:

>We need to report to the office 8-12 hours a day?
> We are tired, stressed and worn out from our work?
> We can’t afford to leave our office at least one week straight?
> Our boss is always demanding us to report when there’s an emergency work?
> Our family demands time from us after a long week work?

How about these:

1. Our boss dictates how many holidays we can only take in a year.
2. We can’t be late and must wake up early everyday for work.
3. If there’s a huge load, we can’t go home at 5 pm. Our boss dictates what time we will go home in fact, even including how many times a year we can only get sick.
4. Our boss determines how much will be our salary, bonus and promotion. This happens year in and year out. And we can’t violate the rules, otherwise it might cost us our salary increase or even worse our job.

Sounds familiar? There’s no time freedom with a JOB. That is why it’s called JOB, it stands for JOURNEY OF THE BROKE. The more we work, the more we realize that we are still with our boss, with a paycheck that is not enough, finding ourselves in debt even before we receive our paycheck. Then only to find out that no matter how hard we worked on our job, the company has a “ceiling” for us. Meaning, no matter how hard we perform, we will only get what is due to us based on the company’s standard salary.

So how can we achieve time freedom?

It starts with educating ourselves financially. Our school did not teach us about money, if it did majority of us Filipinos will be entrepreneurs not employees. Our school taught us skills usable for companies hiring us but it did not teach us anything about money and finances. We did not have a subject of Money 101 and worst the people teaching us about money and finances are teachers who most of the time never ever had hands-on experience when it comes to business. This is the reason why Robert Kiyosaki, in his best-selling book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad”, chose to learn financially with the father of his best friend whom he considered as his Rich Dad than his biological father who is a school teacher. In fact, his biological father, his “Poor Dad”, encouraged him to learn about money and business from his best friend’s father, his “Rich Dad” because his biological father is intelligent enough to know that when it comes to business and finances he has nothing much to teach his own son about it.

Be with a team of like minded-people committed to achieving time and money freedom in their lives. It is important that we become part of a community that will commit to our success for a lifetime. Being successful is a continuous learning and growing. It is crucial that we surround ourselves with positive people who are committed to our financial success and to their own financial success as well. As asserted by self-made millionaire and financial educator Robert Kiyosaki said, “time and money freedom can be achieved faster with a mastermind team.”

The Money Life Cycle of the Poor, Middle Class and Wealthy

The Figure above shows the money cycle of the poor, middle class and wealthy. Let’s discuss it in a more detailed manner.

1.) Poor – as you can see, immediately after receiving their income, they spend it for all their doodads. These people have lots of stuff in their house even if some of those are not needed.

2.) Middle Class – now this one’s a little different. The middle class thinks that buying something like a house or a car will give them an asset. But according to Rich Dad, “an asset is something that puts money into your pocket.” So they pay the down payment and the monthly dues which in turn becomes a liability because it takes money away from their pocket every month....

The Ownership of Money!

“The ownership of money and property comes as a result of doing things in a certain way; those who do things in this certain way, whether on purpose or accidentally, get rich!” Now I pulled this phrase from a book I am reading called “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace Wattles, so I do not claim it as my own. No I just started the book but the concepts are right on the money.

Why is it that a person can get rich while the person sitting next to them, can’t? Is it because they live in a certain area or were born with money? Sprained Ankle

It happened on our second match of the doubles tournament of MATCI. The score is tied at six all and I positioned myself near the net. Suddenly, our opponents lobbed the ball, so I ran backwards without looking on the ground when all of a sudden I heard a cracking sound as I sprained my ankle. I couldn't help myself but fall on the powdery shell courts of Olivarez. And then I closed my eyes for a minute trying to sense how I'm feeling with my left foot. The match was interrupted for I can't stand by my own anymore, and I'm still asking myself, "is this for real?" However, I decided to continue playing with my ankle bandaged and eventually we lost.

After this encounter I told myself I gotta reflect on this. Aware of the fact that personal growth involves the physical, I started asking myself how and why did that happened. "Its my fault, I should have done strength and conditioning before entering the tourney or I should have been a little bit smarter and tried to look on the groung first before initiating to run.

I took time off and then I realized that I can relate this to wealth building. That the wealthy also experience being knock down or injured, they get bankrupt at some point before they became successful. I remembered the line, "nine out of ten businesses fail". So I told myself that I shouldn't be disheartened nor be stopped. Its not the end, the only end for me is success. All I need to do is to accept the situation and move forward. Learn the lessons and keep on fighting to win!

I mean, you must have a motivation to contribute to other people's life by empowering them. Its something money can't buy, and for me, it really makes sense. 1) People with no time and money. They have no time because they must devote themselves to work. And they have no money because they have to pay their bills and expenses everytime they receive their salary, leaving them broke every end of the month.

2) People with time but no money. Because they don't have work, they have lots of free time. And because they don't have work, they don't have money.

3) People with no time but with money. These people are strict savers, they don't have time like the # 1 person because of work. But they have money because they save too much.

4) People with time and money. They are called, the wealthy. They have time for their loved ones, and they can do whatever they wish. Because they have passive income, they don't need to work. And its the same reason why they have money, because what they have is multiple streams of passive income..

You can be one of these persons. But you have a choice to change if you don't like your standing. In fact, a lot of people think they are destined to be where they are now. And they never realize that they had choosen to be what they are.
